ACD Labeling Without Inline Printer

If you are working on a cross dock process with an ACD system that does not have an inline printer, the following description of the labeling procedure can be used as a guide.

Start by scanning the vendor label on the box and determining whether there is a match within your ACD system. If not, is the ASN quantity greater than the demand quantity? If not, open the box if necessary to determine the SKU of the item. Search the ACD system by product for unreceived cases, and attempt to match the case with an unreceived one. If you find a match, print a new case label. By doing this, the ACD system will mark the record as received. If the ASN quantity is greater than the demand quantity, prepare the box for the putaway process by setting it aside and waiting for a putaway label to be printed from WMS.

If an ACD match is found, print a case label from ACD. ACD updates its tables to show that the box was received. Apply the label to the box, and keep it in a holding area for Non-Con cross dock shipping.
